I have been using Ezoic for some time now, and I find it a convenient and better option than most ad networks out there. Many people get stuck between going with Ezoic or Mediavine, but through my experience, Ezoic carries the day. There are many similarities between the two, but with Ezoic you get more options with higher flexibility on your account. In addition, Ezoic gives you more control over your account and ads to display, and extra features to enhance your earnings.
My earnings have not only skyrocketed, but the SEO of my site has also increased tremendously leading to higher rankings on search engines. From being an amateur trusting only Adsense, to experimenting several ad networks, of which none met my expectations, Ezoic has become my highest earner ever. The only regret I have, is not knowing about and starting using it earlier.
What is Ezoic?
Ezoic is an ad testing platform that helps publishers improve their website’s revenue and user experience. Ezoic provides automated website intelligence for ads, content, layouts, and more. Publishers use Ezoic to access powerful tools and applications, gain exposure to unprecedented analytics, and run sophisticated experiments. Ezoic allows publishers to leverage the power of true artificial intelligence on their websites.
This includes the ability to collect important data and automate decisions that improve visitor experiences, SEO, and website earnings. Ezoic gives has a number of features that you can use to grow your website. From Ad Tester that allows you to perform automated ad placement testing, as Ezoic learns how visitors respond to various placements and make automatic adjustments to improve user experiences and total revenue per session.
To Layout Tester, that allows you to test multiple website layouts, as Ezoic automatically adjusts your site to deliver each user with a layout to best balance user experience and revenue. You also get Ad Mediation, that allows you to enter your existing ad partners on a leveled playground to compete in giving you the best ad rates. You get these and more features when you sign up for Ezoic.
Why Ezoic is better than Mediavine
Ezoic is the number one fully automated layout improvement platform. Ezoic has firmly established itself as one of the top options for publishers when it comes to monetizing websites. It’s well documented that their ability to leverage sophisticated machine learning and multivariate testing, can quickly increase your site’s ad revenue. If you are an independent publisher who is looking to improve your website, earn more money from advertising, and provide a better online experience for your visitors, Ezoic will serve you better than Mediavine.
Here are some of the top reasons publishers elect to leverage Ezoic over Mediavine on their websites.
1. Requirements
To join Ezoic, your website just need 10,000 monthly visitors. Unlike Mediavine, which requires a much higher threshold of 25,000 monthly sessions or unique visitors or at least in one month as per Google Analytics.
2. Contract
Ezoic does not require you to sign any contract or make any commitments when you sign up with them. But for Mediavine, you will have to sign a contract and be compelled to adhere to it, failure to which you will lose your account.
3. Control
Ezoic gives its publishers control over the ads displayed on their sites, in addition to adjusting the percentage of traffic to Ezoic version of your site and ultimately having an option switch on/off Ezoic completely. This is not the case with Mediavine, which takes full control of the number and type of ads displayed on your site.
4. Flexibility
Ezoic gives you an array of options on your account to experiment on and use. Unlike Mediavine which has restrictions on what you can do on your account.
5. Ad networks
With Ezoic you can choose to display ads from other networks on your site or even link other ad networks you are working with through their platform. But in the case of Mediavine, you will have to remove all ad codes from other networks from your site, thus preventing you from working with other ad networks.
Definitely interesting info. I don’t know much about Ezoic but am often asked which ad networks are best for someone that doesn’t meet Mediavine requirements. Ezoic is one I have recommended from time to time but I, honestly, don’t know much about it.
One note – and perhaps it’s just the wording – but the statement “which takes full control of the number and type of ads displayed on your site” is incorrect. You can choose from several different settings on Mediavine which, effectively, control the number of ads that appear on your website. You can also use a simple line of code to exclude in-content ads from a page completely. They also have settings where you can exclude specific types of add categories like alcohol, downloads, gambling, health, etc.
In relation to Jessica’s comment regarding the statement that says Mediavine “takes full control of the number and type of ads displayed on your site,” I think the author is referring to the fact the Ezoic is a self-serving platform that gives publishers full control and transparency of how they monetize their website using Ezoic.
Thanks Sarah for that insightful addition. I have been using Ezoic for awhile now and I can attest to the autonomy the platform gives their publishers over the ads they run on their websites. Ezoic has several features that allow you to decide the ads to place on your website, the layout and block advertisers you don’t want to advertise on your site. In short you have full freedom and control over ads placed on your site.
what about earning? which is better?
Ezoic is way better than Mediavine.
Very true. In fact, Ezoic is so confident that they guarantee higher revenue than Mediavine and AdThrive. It hasn’t been even close for years.
