Gross county product (GCP) is the total value of everything produced within a county’s borders. When economists talk about the “size” of county economy, they are referring to GCP. A county’s GCP is calculated by taking into account the monetary worth of a county’s goods and services within one year. GCP provides an economic snapshot of a county, used to estimate the size of an economy and growth rate. It’s a measure of economic activity for a given county.
