Normal contribution
To remit your NHIF contributions via Mpesa, follow these steps.
- Select the “Pay Bill” option.
- Enter Business No. 200222
- Type in contributor’s ID number as the account number.
- Type in the amount you wish to contribute.
- Enter your Mpesa PIN.
- Confirm all details are correct then press “OK”.
- You will receive a confirmation SMS from Mpesa immediately.
Penalty
To pay NHIF penalty via Mpesa, follow these steps.
- Select the “Pay Bill” option.
- Enter Business No. 200222
- Type in contributor’s ID number followed by “y” at the end as the account number, e.g., 12345678y. This is so that the transactions could be treated as a penalty.
- For the amount, enter Ksh 250 for each of the months defaulted.
- Enter your Mpesa PIN.
- Confirm all details are correct then press “OK”.
- You will receive a confirmation SMS from Mpesa immediately.
