TV stations remain the most popular means of receiving news updates and other forms of entertainment. In Kenya, the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) regularly monitors and ranks the country’s TV stations. According to the authority, TV viewership reaches its peak during prime time 6pm-10pm because it requires active visual participation which is not possible if consumers engage in other activities during the day. During the day the TV stations enjoy relatively similar viewership with a spike at 1pm as Kenyans watch the news.
